Electronic Controls for Power and Precision

As a pioneer in upper extremity prosthetics, we back your upper extremity prosthesis with decades of experience and proven function. Whether you need a precision performance myoelectric hand for a secure hold on delicate objects, or a strong elbow to lift a bag of groceries, you'll fin an excellent solution with Otto Bock.

You control a myoelectric device by using the natural electrical signals from your muscles. Small wires fabricated into your socket pick-up those electrical signals to flex or extend your elbow, open and close your hand, or rotate your wrist.

More conventional systems are typically referred to as “body-powered.” You can control the prosthesis by using a series of cables attached to a harness. Some people will combine electronically controlled devices with a body-powered system for what’s known as a hybrid prosthesis.
