All mechanical knees are not created equal. They are designed to help you achieve specific goals. Understand the difference that goes into your knee or hip.

The 3R60-PRO is a smaller, lighter version of our most popular mechanical knee.
It includes two hydraulic units for dynamic, responsive walking performance!
The unique design is extremely stable while helping achieve a more natural walking pattern.

The complex functions of knees and hips put unique demands on a prosthesis. These joints need to bend and rotate for natural walking but still provide stability even when flexed. Without these qualities, you might have to adopt unnatural walking patterns to compensate for an unsteady prosthesis.
Otto Bock offers a range of mechanical knees - from knees that lock for people who have very limited mobility, to advanced designs that naturally flex for shock absorption without collapsing underneath you. If you are looking for a microprocessor-controlled knee, please visit the C-Leg® website to learn more.
These more advanced knees can be adjusted by your Prosthetist to provide more or less resistance to bending. They can even be adjusted to swing forward more easily while walking or running. The key is getting the right device and the right fit.
Otto Bock manufactures knees for every level of activity, but it's important to work closely with your Prosthetist to understand your potential and what options might be best for you.
For hips, Otto Bock offers the Helix3D Hip, which not only provides some shock absorption, but also mimics the natural rotation of your hip. The result is that you can achieve a more natural walking style while also getting a greater range of motion for everyday tasks like bending to tie your shoe. The Helix3D Hip joint may only be used in combination with the C-Leg® microprocessor-controlled knee.
