The Legasus Anatomic Lower Limb CPM combines patient comfort with advanced treatment features.

Legasus achieves 0° to 125° of anatomically correct motion. Anterior tibial translation is effectively reduced during extension through a sophisticated linkage system, which helps to maintain correct leg positioning and enhanced patient comfort.

A patented anterior plate system cradles and holds the thigh to achieve full extension, similar to the manual techniques employed by therapists.

Patient treatment is further enhanced by the programmable pause feature located on the base of the device. Pause is especially beneficial in preventing the formation of contractures and intra-articular adhesions.

Operation and patient set up is simplified with the easy-to-use hand-held digital motion controller that controls speed, range of motion, and start/stop.

The reverse-on-load safety feature reverses the direction of travel should the patient resist motion, or if motion is obstructed.

Indications

Immediate postoperative management after the following, where indicated:

• ACL reconstruction; open reduction and rigid internal fixation of intra-articular, diaphyseal and metaphyseal fractures
• Capsulotomy and arthrolysis for post-traumatic arthritis with restriction of motion; dynovectomy for rheumatoid arthritis and hemophilic arthropathy; arthrotomy and drainage of acute septic arthritis
• Surgical release of extra-articular contractures or adhesions (quadricepsplasty)
• Metaphyseal osteotomy with rigid internal fixation of tibia and femur; prosthetic replacement (arthroplasty)
• Reconstruction of medial collateral ligament tears of the knee using a semitendinosus tenodesis
• Reconstructive surgery of bone, cartilage, tendons and ligaments
• Prolonged joint immobilization
